Millions of people in the U.S. are finally getting vaccinated from the coronavirus. Many restrictions that were set in place, such as masks, have become relaxed. However, there are still some exceptions and rules you should be aware of, even if you are fully vaccinated. Keep reading this article to learn about the things you should be aware of once you are fully vaccinated!
What Fully Vaccinated Means
Even though you may think you are fully vaccinated, the CDC has stated different requirements you should meet in order to be considered fully vaccinated.
According to the CDC, you are only fully vaccinated if:
- You have received two doses of a vaccine, such as Moderna or Pfizer. Additionally, it has been two weeks since you have obtained your second dose.
- You have received a single dose vaccination, such as the Johnson and Johnson’s Janssen vaccine. Additionally, it has already been two weeks since you’ve gotten the single dose.
Unfortunately, no matter your age, if you do not meet these requirements, you are not considered fully vaccinated. Unfortunately, if this is the case with you, you need to continue following COVID-19 safety precautions for the safety of yourself and others.
Traveling
Once you are fully vaccinated, you can safely travel without needing a test prior to leaving the United States. Additionally, you won’t need to quarantine once you come back to the U.S.A.
While many restrictions are getting uplifted, the CDC still recommends following safety precautions and testing for COVID-19 if you start to experience any COVID-19 symptoms. It’s important to remember that all restrictions being removed apply mainly to non-healthcare settings; you will have to wear your mask and comply with all safety protocols when you are in a healthcare facility.
Rules In Regards To Masks And Social Distancing
According to the CDC, if you are fully vaccinated, you do not have to wear a mask or follow social distancing in any area. However, there is an exception to this. You will need to follow safety protocols in any area where the state, local, federal, territorial, or tribal laws and regulations state you need to. Specifically, you will need to follow safety precautions in a clinic, store, or business if they require it. Specifically, this is regardless of whether you are vaccinated or not. All healthcare clinics will require you to follow safety precautions for the time being.
So, while you won’t have to wear a mask in a public setting, you will need to wear a mask in areas that specifically state it is required. Even though this may feel like a burden, these areas keep these rules in place to ensure the safety of everyone, so it’s essential to wear a mask even if you feel like you no longer need to!
Final Thoughts
While the vaccine is an amazing sign of hope, it is new. Therefore, it is best to continue practicing safety precautions until the CDC states that it is safe to stop.
